Does Wealthy Affiliate Work (Or Just One BIG Joke?)

This review may contain affiliate links. Please check out my affiliate disclaimer for more info.

I don’t blame you for being skeptical in this “affiliate marketing” industry because there’s a lot of shadiness about.

question marks

Especially, in this day and age, where more folks are jumping on the online money-making bandwagon now more than ever.

But when it comes to Wealthy Affiliate, I’ll be addressing your question:

Does Wealthy Affiliate work or just another lousy scam to keep at arm’s length?

So, without further ado, let’s get you the honest answer you’re looking for as a complete beginner…

Firstly, What is Wealthy Affiliate All About?

Wealthy Affiliate (WA for short) is a one-stop-shop specifically built for beginners (although, anyone can join really).

Where, as a member, you’ll receive step-by-step training, tools, and support around the clock from an entire community of 2-million affiliates in various niches…

To put you on the right track to starting an affiliate Biz for free and turning it into a full-time passive income as a blogger and affiliate marketer.

The platform was launched by 2 Canadian webpreneurs (Kyle Loudon and Carson Lim) on 10th September 2005.

So, while there is a boatload of controversy on the internet about the WA community, it’s still going strong more than a decade later.

Which, in my eyes, speaks volumes about the platform.

How Wealthy Affiliate Works in More Depth

Once you gain entry to the Wealthy Affiliate dashboard as a free starter member, you’ll receive everything required for starting your Biz:

#1: Online Entrepreneur Certification (Level 1) Course

This training module comprises 10 lessons that cover the following topics:

  1. Getting Rolling
  2. Understanding How to Make Money Online
  3. Choose a Niche

  5. Setting up Your Website
  6. Getting Your Site Ready For Search Engines
  7. Creating Your Initial Website Content
  8. Creating Custom Menus on Your Website
  9. Understanding Keywords
  10. Congratulations and Your Next Steps

Put simply, you’ll be taught the basics of affiliate marketing and how to start and set up a brand new website using the SiteRubix website builder.

Which, basically builds you a WordPress blog, the fast and simple way – without needing any technical expertise.

However, when you upgrade your membership to the Premium level (see Wealthy Affiliate’s costs), you’ll get the advanced stuff:

Which, are the lessons to help actually grow your blog into a potentially lucrative affiliate Biz.

The Premium membership level also allows you to build and house 50 websites inside Wealthy Affiliate in total.

Plus, you’ll receive other advanced benefits like faster web hosting speeds, enhanced security, and all-round better website-related features.

#2: The Tools of The Trade

In addition to the SiteRubix website builder, there are other tools you can take advantage of for laying the foundations of your Biz.

The main ones include:

The Jaaxy Keyword Research Tool

Since you’ll be building out a blog, Jaaxy is designed to help you pinpoint low-hanging traffic-generation keywords to write blog posts around.

Posts, than can potentially rank high up in Google and other search engines like Bing and Yahoo down the road.

As a free WA member, you get 30 Jaaxy searches to help set the ball rolling with your blog.

The Ultimate Content Writing Platform

This is an in-house platform that easily enables you to write out your posts using templates and also setting word-count goals.

Additionally, the tool will spell check your content and even allows you to insert royalty free images before publishing the post on your WordPress blog.

The Affiliate Program Finder

This tools basically saves you heaps of time by finding affiliate programs and products to promote in your niche.

You simply enter a niche/product into the search bar, set your filter preferences, and the tool will return a bunch of quality programs.

Ones, that are a part of the big affiliate networks like CJ, Awin, and ClickBank, to name a few.

Once you find the program(s) you want to promote, you then apply for affiliate approval, choose your products, and start writing blog reviews.

#3: 24/7 Community Support

One of the great aspects of WA I like is the level of support you receive from various angles.

First of all, there’s live chat that allows you to engage in conversation with other members and quickly get any questions answered.

Secondly, you can engage in the classrooms by posting your questions and do in-house blog posts on Biz-related topics.

Thirdly, you can private message any community member (including your sponsor + Kyle and Carson) with your questions:

And finally, if you experience any troubles with your website, you can reach out to the site support team – they will reply in just minutes!

So, now you’re a bit more familiar with WA, here’s the answer to your golden question…

Does Wealthy Affiliate Work or Not?

In my experience – YES, Wealthy Affiliate CAN bring you monetary results through affiliate marketing in 2022 and beyond.

As proof, here’s a recent screenshot of my $6K lifetime commissions as an affiliate of ClickFunnels*

*Your results will vary based on your effort, education, and market factors beyond our control.

This is one of my numerous income streams.

And while it’s not in the region of $10,000s (at the time of writing) – WA’s resources and training ARE paying off for me.

Because I follow the training to the letter, work my socks off, and refuse to give up on my life goals.

For a few more member success stories in the “affiliate marketing” niche, see my WA Black Friday post.

Better yet, see THESE 29 WA success stories from members who have banked $100s – $10,000s in various niches by doing the same thing.

So, there’s absolutely no reason why you can’t follow suite as a WA member IF you fully commit to the process and give it time.

My Closing Thoughts…

You may have already read numerous negative Wealthy Affiliate reviews and complaints:

“WA’s a scam, I want a refund…”

“The training’s outdated, it doesn’t work…”

“All the member reviews are fake…”

And my favourite one: “WA’s a pyramid/recruitment scheme – avoid it!…” LOL.

I’m sorry, but what a load of hogwash.

Admittedly, some aspects of the training are dated – I think Kyle needs to revamp most of the modules, in all honesty.

Because the internet and affiliate marketing industries evolve at a fast pace – so Kyle needs to be on top of the ball.

But when it comes to the big picture of everything (tools, training & support) chucked into one platform…

You really can have big success with a niche website when you stick with the program – crossing all the I’s and dotting the T’s.

It’s usually the ones who give up too soon or put off by negative reviews from “experts” outside of WA – who scream the word “SCAM”.

At the end of the day, it’s your call though.

Your buddy, Neil.
