DigitalMarketer Review: [Does DM Lab Cut The Mustard?]

Inside this review, we’re gonna explore the FULL ins and outs of DigitalMarketer (aka DM Lab).

A friend recently shared the platform on his Facebook timeline, and since it’s free throughout March 2020, I decided to give it a whirl.

Apparently, DM Lab is designed as an easy approach to helping you get internet marketing done – whether you’re a pro or agency owner.

But does the platform actually cut the mustard in terms of equipping you with the essentials for growing a successful Biz online?

Or does it leave a lot to be desired, huh?

At a Quick Glance

DigitalMarketer Review

Name: Digital Marketer (DM).

Owner: Ryan Deiss.

Website: Click Here (digitalmarketer.com).

Cost: $95/month – $295/month.

My Score: 7/10.

PROS

  • Free for the whole of March 2020
  • LOTS of high-quality text & video training from experts
  • Comes with downloadable resources + trackers
  • Help & support is available
  • Ideal for established Biz & agency owners
  • Ryan Deiss is a reputable marketer

CONS

  • Some might consider the volume of training as overwhelming
  • I think some PDFs are a bit on the thin side
  • Facebook group support’s only available to Elite members
  • Additional expenses are required for tools & paid traffic generation methods
  • It’s not 100% suitable for total beginners, in my opinion

Summary:

I must admit, I’m quite impressed by the level and volume of training you get from various experts inside DigitalMarketer on implementing different strategies.

Ones, that can really take your business to new heights on the web, as long as you take action, of course…

Whether you’re an affiliate marketer, any other type of online/offline Biz owner or even if you have your own agency on the go.

However, for the monthly costs you pay, I do believe more tools other than spreadsheets and checklists, etc, should be included with your membership.

Furthermore, I’m not keen on the fact that you must be an Elite member to access the Facebook group because it should be accessible for both levels.

But despite the downsides, DM is still a great platform you should leverage since there’s a heck of a lot you’ll learn about marketing online.

Final Verdict: Legit & Recommended.

What’s DigitalMarketer All About You, Ask?

Put simply, DigitalMarketer is a 10,000-strong community of marketers and also a place where you’ll find checklists, templates, and training for success online.

More specifically, DM comprises 36 actionable playbooks, 11 courses, and a Facebook group of members ready to answer your questions.

Being an affiliate marketer myself, I know for a fact that it’s impossible to succeed without the right mentor(s) and resources at your disposal.

So it’s great that we have coaches like Ryan Deiss in our corner – pointing us to success in the online sphere.

In fact, Mr. Deiss is quite a reputable marketer who also wrote the ‘Digital Marketing for dummies’ book with his pal Russ Henneberry.

Get more info on their book (+ see a favourite of mine called ‘From Nothing‘ by Ian Pribyl) below.

I digress.

However, the only downside to DM is that it’s not quite an “all in one” platform because it doesn’t actually come with any tools.

Which means you’re gonna have to splash out on the tools of the trade outside of DM.

I dunno about you, but I prefer everything to be in one place (including community support) because it cuts out so much time and hassle for newbies.

Wouldn’t you agree?

But since DM is free (at the time of writing), we shouldn’t look a gift horse in the mouth, as the saying goes.

Let’s Get Down to The Nitty-Gritty of DigitalMarketer

Since there’s a heck of a lot of material to get through inside DM, I’m gonna break things down into easy digestible chunks so it’s not blurred into one.

Here’s everything that DM has to offer…

#1: Toolbox

Here, you’ll discover heaps of PDF guides on a variety of internet marketing topics.

You’ll learn stuff on video creation, podcasts, SEO, email marketing, blogging + editorial calendar creation, and social media, to name the main topics.

DigitalMarketer Toolbox

I must admit, there’s some good content here. But there are some PDFs that could with a little more meat on the bone, in my opinion.

Additionally, you’ll get various swipe files and templates to help you hit the ground running with your marketing campaigns.

#2: Insider Training

This section gets slightly more interesting.

Because there are lengthy videos from numerous marketing experts who share their knowledge on the cutting-edge strategies.

There are all kinds of topics like:

  • Amazon Monetization Strategies (with Kathleen Kobel)
  • Live Landing Page Audits (with Justin Rondeau)
  • The Viral Social Media Impact Formula (with Katya Varbanova)
  • 6 Steps to a High-Converting Webinar (with Casey Zeman)
  • 28 Days to 2.7 Million Views on Tik Tok (with Rachel Pedersen)
  • Plus MANY other subjects from the experts…

Expert Insider Training Videos

All in all, there are literally tons of golden nuggets to take away from the training for scaling your Biz to new levels.

Speaking of which, see the newly-released ‘Traffic Secrets’ book by Rusell Brunson who helps you to flood your Biz with “targeted” visitors.

In fact, also check out John Crestani’s ‘Work At Home Secrets & Scams’ workbook that comes with ‘Internet Jetset’.

Because it’s an expert training series – where each week an internet marketing millionaire shares a profitable Biz model you can replicate.

#3: Playbooks

Inside this section, there’s even more guidance from internet marketing experts and educators.

Except, here there are step-by-step text guides (with screenshots) that take you through the processes of effectively implementing strategies like:

  • Writing Sales-Boosting Bullets
  • Facebook Ad Scale & Troubleshooting
  • Building & Launching a Sales Funnel
  • Email List Building & Follow up Emails
  • Google Ads
  • Blog Content
  • Video Sales Letters
  • YouTube Retargeting
  • And so MUCH more…

Internet Marketing Playbooks

The great thing is that most playbooks seem to have a lot of depth to them.

What I also like about the playbooks is that they come with downloadable resources like checklists and spreadsheets, etc, to help you stay on track with your efforts.

But wait, there’s MORE LOL…

In addition to all the above:

There are extra courses, jumpstart packs (actionable crash courses), and workshops from the top dog marketers for Plus & Elite members.

But as I said, the whole DM platform’s free for the time being.

So make the most of the training before you start getting charged.

This brings me to…

The Costs to go “All In” With DigitalMarketer

Once the free access comes to end, the Plus level costs $95/month.

Or if you want more benefits and/or you’re running an agency, then the Elite level costs $295/month.

But also don’t forget that some strategies like blogging, building sales funnels, and Google Ads, etc, are gonna come with additional costs outside of DM.

But having said that, you will learn about some strategies that won’t cost you a penny.

It all depends on your preferences, at the end of the day.

However, what I do like about the DM membership is that there aren’t multiple upsells involved.

Because it’s just one monthly cost for your desired plan.

Final Conclusion: Is DigitalMarketer Worth it?

In my opinion, if you’re seeking new ways to scale your Biz – whether you’re an offline or online Biz owner, or even if you run an agency…

Then DigitalMarketer is absolutely worth the dough because the platform’s packed with so much training from the big guns, it’s unreal.

However, if you’re brand new to this internet marketing “thing”, then it’s probably best that you start a Biz and learn the ropes before diving into DM.

Because some methods might be over your head as a newb.

But each to their own, as they say.
